It looks like Barb’s gotten past the issue of $20/ hr Internet access as I received this recent update last night. However I’m cringing at what the bill will be for all of the disposable cameras that Barb’s had to buy due to the malfunctioning camera.
Here’s Barb’s next update on their Tahiti Adventure …

I received Barb’s second update from her Tahiti Adventure. Sounds like things are going well but bad news about the camera.

We’ve now moved on to Moorea and are staying at the Intercontinental Moorea hotel.
We have a nice room right over the water and are snorkeling every day and we went on a whale and dolphin watching tour this morning for about 4 hours. 2 days ago we rented a car and drove all around the island and Mom and I have both found a pair of pearl earrings for ourselves.

I received an email from Barb just now with several pictures such as the one above. I guess her notes on getting the digital camera connected worked out after all.
Our room is drop dead gorgeous and the service has been top notch and we could very easily get used to this. The colours of the water are incredible and the many shades of aqua, blue and green are indescribable.
I wish you could be here to experience this beautiful island as it is a once in a lifetime experience for sure. I am very slow in typing because of this keyboard.

Tahiti Bound
It’s 5:30 AM as I write this and I got back from the airport about 30 minutes ago to drop Barb and her mother Ruth as today they will both be beginning their Excellent Tahiti Adventure.

Long tima ago I read a story of people sailing alone over the Atlantic. At the very last stop from Europe to North America, on Capo Verde islands, there is a huge bulletin board where lonely boat owners are looking for a company during the passage. The one particular sailor decided still to go alone and at the end of the journey confessed that the most difficult aspect of the next two weeks sailing was inability to share beautiful moments with someone else. Since then, I do not travel alone. Good luck to Barb and her mother. Cheers,
Mileta
This Adventure is one of the very first that Barb and I took back in 1999. It was the very first trip that started the Excellent Adventure travel journals. Unfortunately, I’ve lost those journals and if I ever recover them I’ll post them here. All that I have from that trip are the pictures which can be viewed here.
